About SICREMI

The Continuous Reporting System on International Migration in the Americas (SICREMI) produces biannual reports. The report collects data from various sources (censuses, surveys, administrative records, etc.) to process and disseminate information on the magnitude, trends and characteristics of international migration in the countries participating in the third report: Argentina, Barbados, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, United States, and Uruguay.

This document is based on the methodological model of the Permanent Observation System on Migration (SOPEMI) of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), adjusting to the needs of the region according to a participatory process of the countries involved. through its correspondents and the participation of national and international organizations that work on the issue of migration.

SICREMI is an undertaking of the Organization of American States (OAS) that aims to contribute to the promotion and development of public policies that lead to improving migration management in the Americas through the facilitation of dialogue, cooperation, strengthening institutional and access to information.
